If you're a fan of oaked wine or whisky, our Lapsang Souchong will be your new favourite. This black Chinese tea has been smoked for deep, earthy goodness. But it's still fairly light and ever-so-slightly-sweet, so you'll be able to reach for it slightly earlier than your usual tipple.

How To Brew

How to Brew

1 Scoop
100° Boiling Water
3-4 Minutes
400ml is perfect for 5g of loose leaf tea. If you're using a tea bag then 300ml is bang on.

Brewing Tip

Your tea will start tasting bitter if it’s left to brew for too long so if you fancy a stronger cup, add some more tea leaves.

Great quality tea, wide range in value packs

We've been ordering Brew Tea for a while now. The 500g packs are perfect for our 3 month subscriptions. The tea is infinitely superior to the main stream brands in the supermarkets.

    Lovely and comforting!

I make no secret that I'm a lover of bold flavours. Especially smoke. I love BBQ, smoky whisky, cigars and a log fire. This tea is the hot drink to have when I'm craving that campfire headiness.

Right away, the aroma doesn't so much hit you in the face, but gives the illusion that a gentle smoke is curling around your nose. No hint of bitterness or scorched wood/tea notes. Just a smoky, malty, deeply savoury smell.

While I have had much, much stronger lapsang, it's a very good daily tea without repeating on you so much hours later. I'm happy that the taste matches the smell and it hasn't played a cruel trick on my senses. Deeply smoked, but gentle. Not an all out assault on your senses, but the taste of smoky pine tar is there.

If I'm honest I would prefer it stronger still, or maybe have a tarry lapsang available as a much stronger separate option. Although it satisfies my craving for smoke, it's not the super bold, almost creosote qualities of the stronger types. Another winner which I'll purchase again without hesitation.

    This the tea

If you want to know what tea is - this is the one to try. Love it or hate it, no in-between (former for me from NYC).
